Docs Diaries Chuck & Barbara Quinn

The year is now 2013 I wrote to Chuck and Barbara Quinn until 1968 when I returned to Vietnam for my second tour I lost contact I tried over the years to find them but to no avail.

Then a few years back a young Fella by the name of Mark Calicutt found me on Facebook and asked "Are you the same Roy Savage who was in Vietnam in 1967" he is a friend of Chuck Quinn's and so I decided to go across and visit Chuck and Barbara.

We, Marie and myself had a great time in East Texas on Chucks Ranch (Population 2) in May 2013 the photos I will call the Young and the Old I gave Chuck my Slouch Hat he gave me a Vietnam Veterans Cap which was interesting to wear in America.

I had to stop wearing it as everywhere I went people were coming up to me, Young and Old saying "excuse me Sir I would like to shake your hand and thank you for your service." It became embarrassing to have to tell them I was not an American Vietnam Veteran, I was impressed though as the American people really show their appreciation to their Veterans, unlike Australians.
